Accupuncture

Acupuncture is derived originally from Chinese medicine. Fine single use needles are inserted into specific points in a person’s body for therapeutic or preventative purposes. This stimulates the central nervous system which in turn results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endorphins into the muscles, spinal cord and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being. Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide range of health conditions including tension type headaches and migraines, chronic pain, osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal conditions such as low back and neck pain

Sports Massage

Also know as soft tissue therapy, this is a specialised, dynamic deep tissue massage where problem areas are identified within the muscles, joints and tendons. Every treatment is customised with the aim of maximising function and restoring the body to a pain-free and balanced state. A variety of methods including Muscle Energy, Neuromuscular Facilitation, Trigger point and Fascial Release Technique are used for relieving pain, rehabilitating injuries, facilitating movement and reducing stress. This may be from sports related injuries, accidents, poor posture or medical conditions such arthritis. All treatments are tailored to your particular needs and preferences.

Laser Therapy

Class IV Laser Therapy is a medical treatment that uses focused light to stimulate and increase cellular metabolism to speed up healing, decrease pain, reduce muscle spasm and improve circulation to injured tissues. This provides a safe, painless, non invasive and non-pharmacological alternative to pain relief. Used in hospitals since the 1970s, Laser is used to treat acute and chronic conditions. It is also used as a tool to prolong the need for some surgeries, as well as pre and post surgery to help control pain and swelling. Clinically used for neck, back and shoulder pain, sciatica, arthritis, Fibromyalgia, soft tissue damage and sports injuries. Please ask if you would like further links to research papers.
